Post Your Letters Here

My husband has a beautiful red brick home with a small post by the driveway. It’s cute and quaint. I thought it would be fun to take inspiration from it to create this card.

Here are steps to create using the Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders.

  1. With white cardstock die cut the large out line die.
  2. Run that piece through an embossing folder. I used the Latticework Embossing folder from Spellbinders from a previous club kit.
  3. Using Ranger Lumberjack Plaid ink I colored the raised areas by taking the ink cube directly to the paper.
  4. From silver metallic paper I die cut the flap, key and key hole. On the flap, I cut off the scalloped edge as our post only has a straight flap.
  5. From black cardstock I die cut the outline and word die (LETTERS). Behind this I added white cardstock to make the letters stand out.
  6. I die cut out three letters using the die from this Large Die of the Month. Using the Stencil of the Month I colored the outline of two of the letters with red and blue ink. The third I left white.
  7. The sentiment is from the Clear Stamp of the Month.
  8. I die cut out the stems and the flowers from colored paper.

To assemble the card

  1. I ink blended the background with some green on the bottom and some blue on the top – sporadically to seem like clouds in the sky.
  2. I cut that down just smaller than an A2 card base and glued it onto the base.
  3. I glued on the flap of the box and the key hole, key, and word LETTERS.
  4. Using foam tape I popped up the mailbox making sure I had some room to slide the letters part way in.
  5. I slid the letters partly into the box and made sure they were secure with some glue.
  6. The flowers were glued onto the stems and made the finishing touches on the card.

Everyone enjoys getting mail…especially fun mail. This card was lots of fun to put together. It is special because it reminds me of our yard. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

These are really cute and creative Club kits of the month for April from Spellbinders. You are able to get these now through April 27th. Great opportunity to sign up for any or all of the month clubs. Have fun creating.
