Tell a Story using the Spellbinders Clubs

Do you ever think you don’t know what to do with a crafty product and look at and think…I’m not sure I like this cuz I don’t know what to do with it. Then BAM! The inspiration hits and you fall in love with the product, the card and the process. This was so true for me on this card! I thought about the cute shoes. I thought about the flowers. Then I looked at some of the stamps and sentiments from this month’s Spellbinders Clubs and it all fell in place.

“When I was a little girl we always got dressed up for Easter with new clothes and new shoes. Picture a young lady of Seven or Eight years old getting her new outfit. The shoes had a little heal – oh, it felt so grown up to be wearing them. My socks matched the colors of my dress. But, darn, I couldn’t keep them both up completely and they wouldn’t match on both feet.”

For this wonderful remembrance I created this card by first die cutting all of the pieces out using the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month. They are many small dies. I find it easiest to just die cut all the tiny pieces and assemble them before designing the actual card. Once the shoes were cut out I looked for some striped paper for the socks. The socks didn’t quite match, but I thought of how many times socks just don’t stay in place. I then cut out all the flowers in multiples of each. I glued them all together so that I could arrange the design. With the help of the sentiment from the Clear Stamp and Die of the Month, I thought of how these shoes could be walking through the flower field.

The background uses the Spellbinders 3D Embossing folder of the month. I love the little bows! They fit the scene I was creating so well. Some of flowers are between the shoes, behind and in front. Just as they would if the little lady walked through a field of flowers.

HAPPY SPRING! Spellbinders club kits are available from the 6-27th of each month. It’s not too late to get these really cute dies. I hope you like my story and my card. Tell me your story by leaving a comment.
