What do you do when you don’t know for sure what to create? I was pressed for time this month as I was traveling internationally. So, I took Jennifer McGuire’s approach and made several parts before I made the whole.

- The Wax Seal of the Month is a delicate and pretty snowflake. It came with beautiful pearly white wax. my first piece was to make 3 white snowflakes.
- The second piece was the Glimmer Of the Month. Hmmm, what foil should I use…gold, red, green? How about all them!
I heated the glimmer machine and set out to make lots of holly branches and sentiments. It’s fun to sit and do several all at once. All the time I could pretend on what they could become on a card.
3. The last piece was the Embossing Folder of the Month. This 2D folder is a blizzard of snowflakes coming down! I used it on two different card fronts – a 4.25”x5.5” piece of blue cardstock and a 4.25”x5.5” piece of vellum.
The rest became easy to just piece together the two cards.
The vellum looked really good just over a white card front. By adding the gold foiled holly and sentiments it looked really classy. I decided to add a bit of color to the holly by using the stencil that came with it and just using the ink already on my blending brushes I added the green and red. To darken the red a bit more I use d some Distress Lumberjack Red. I only attached the vellum at the top of the card so that it would float on its own a bit. The red foiled sentiment highlighted the berries. When all put together I added a few red sequins to give it some bling.

The second card also came together quickly. I wanted that white snowflake wax seal to be front and center. To follow the gold, white theme of the card I used a gold pen to highlight the design on the snowflake. I wrapped some gold and white twine around the blue cardstock, after trimming it a bit on each side. Then I popped it up with some foam tape which also served to hold the twine in place. Once attached to the card front, I added the sentiments and a bit of gold sequins.
So the next time you are in a crunch or you don’t know what to do, make some parts! They might be sentiments or die cuts, or Santas, or Sleighs, or flowers, or just running embossing folders with cardstock. Then when you actually put together a card it goes really fast.
In the end I really liked these, especially the white one. It would be easy to mass produce this also.
