Spellbinders Glimmer Club of the Month

Do you like sparkle and shine on your cards? Do you look for new ways to create shine? Well, this month’s theme of the monthly clubs at spellbinders seems (pun intended) to be on stitching. But wait, you aren’t a fan of stitching? No problem, I’ve got you covered!

I didn’t know about stitching on cards much so I decided to just glimmer the six strips and use them as stripes on my card. Using the glimmer machine and Aura foil, I foiled on white cardstock. Then I used the solid plate and glimmered the reverse on white cardstock. I also glimmered the Better Press Butterfly Garden Press Plate and Die set, using only the sentiment and the butterfly of the reverse.

For the first card I colored my strips with blue inks from Altenew – Artic, Persian Blue and Sapphire. (TIP: rub cardstock with paper towel to bring back the shine after inking.) I taped the stipes together to get a good idea of how I wanted them on the card. Then ran white cardstock through the Four Floral 3D embossing folder. This is one of my favorite embossing folders! I cut some gold cardstock for the bottom of the card, angled for what I wanted to match the strips. To put it all together, I layered light blue cardstock then the white embossed panel popped up with foam tape. Next I added the gold over the bottom and angled the strips over gold and white with more foam tape. Since I know of lots of birthdays coming up I die cut the sentiment(not sure which company’s sentiment it is), glued it down and added the butterfly.

This second card I used the same Four Pedal 3D embossing folder with a white cardstock panel. Mounted it on gold background, added the Glimmered strips across the bottom with foam tape and topped it off with the butterfly.

Maybe someday I will stitch on cards, but for now, I think I’ll stick to the strips. Let me know what you like to do and if you would try this.

Thanks for visiting me…come back again soon.
