Under the Sea with Spellbinders

As a certified Scuba Diver, this month’s Club sets were just perfect. I couldn’t wait to “dive” in!

A birthday card featuring two cartoon divers, one with blonde hair and the other with dark hair, swimming above colorful coral and fish, with bubbles and a 'Happy Birthday' banner.

This first card takes me to the magical underwater haven. The background is done with the glimmer machine using the Glimmer of the Month to create the bubbles of the sea. The Die of the Month is depicting the fun of the divers heading to check out the fish and the coral. They are so cute heading into the sea but still keeping an eye on each other…safety first!

A vibrant underwater-themed card featuring a playful goldfish, seaweed, and a shell with the text 'MAKE A SPLASH'.

This next card features the Large Die of the Month…or at least some of it. The background was a piece of alcohol inked cardstock from my stash. I think I did this 4 years ago but it was absolutely perfect for this background. I cut the coral from coordinating colors and white glitter paper for the shell. The fish is from metallic paper and of course, more glitter paper.

A whimsical card featuring a cute mermaid with red hair, surrounded by seaweed and a sandcastle on a blue background.

Funny how some things come about. This was the reverse glimmer of the very first card above. There looked to be lots to transfer onto the navy cardstock but it didn’t come out at all. Yet when I looked at the sparkles and uneven pattern on the cardstock, it made for a terrific background. So I built my sandcastle and laid my corals down then put Ariel (haha) swimming around. The shaped card is using the stitching die from last month’s kit.

A greeting card featuring a bottle with a boat inside, set against a blue sky and waves. The text on the card reads 'IT'S OK TO FLOAT AWHILE.'

This last card uses the 3D Embossing folder of the Month for the water and the Clear Stamp and Die set of the month. There’s a ship inside the bottle! And it’s just bobbing in the waves (on a wobble). I stamped the ship on velum. The sky has some ink blending and then silver stars created by just a silver gel pen.

Such a fun set to play with this month! Club subscriptions are available from the 6th-27th of each month. Plus, you can often get some past club goodies.

Thanks for visitng my underwater landscapes.

Hugs, Penny
