I finished the Altenew Educators Certification Program in April of 2021. I learned so much from this program — still going back to the original classes and enjoying newer ones also. Below are two cards using the Sunshine Flowers Craft Your Life Kit : one that was tried and true and the second that I challenged myself to something new.

Altenew is known for their great layering stamps so here is my Tried and True. Using the stamp set from Sunshine Flowers I used Obsidian Ink, Pink Quart and Purple Wine inks. The leaves were done in Olive and Moss. The sentiment is also from the same kit stacking four die cuts on top of each other for dimension. The flower was also embossed with the embossing folder and popped up with foam tape. To add some depth to the card base I ink blended the light pink cardstock with Purple Wine ink around the edges. Then Splattered the card with black and Purple Wine for background interest.

This one is the one I challenged myself. Taking black cardstock I used the embossing folder from the Sunshine Flower kit and then colored it with Acrylic Markers. I found I had to build up the yellow several times for it to show more solidly on the black background. Even though these markers are not meant to blend I was able to create a small blend by adding some pink into the centers and on the tips. Then I used white spatter on the background to add some interest. For the first time using these markers I was really pleased.
