I am pleased to be a part of this month’s release and my projects will highlight four of the possible subscriptions. The first one is Build-A-Garden Tulips and Friends. I created this card by first stamping the outlines on white cardstock with Altenew Obsidian Black Ink. Then cut them out…I had to fussy cut them as the die was not yet available.  Now you can also get the die!  For the leaves I used Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf inks.  The little yellow flowers are in Fresh Lemon ink.  My daughter’s favorite colored tulips are white…not an easy color to create on a card.  I chose to stamp the flowers in a pale gray to give some shape and shading. Then I used clear Altenew embossing ink over the blossoms and heat embossed with Altenew Translucent Pearl powder.  It didn’t look as good as I wanted so I again did just the blossoms and cut the out.  I glued two on flat but used foam squares to pop up the left one. These were then added to a Reflections shimmer cardstock piece 4”X5.25” which was splattered with Forest Glades spray ink.  Then the whole card front was adhered to a green card base.

The “Craft-A-Flower” subscription is my favorite.  I love the easy way of die cutting pieces and putting them together to make gorgeous flowers of all kinds.  This Garden Rose is a magnificent example.  The dies now have an added feature…either a keyhole with number or an arrow with a number.  Die cut them all then match all the keyholes and all the arrows, then just stack and glue with each piece, starting with 1 and working your way up.  SOOO easy to put together.  For my roses I chose a deep red cardstock but ink blended with some light pink ink to give some additional texture.  The hummingbird is from the Painted Hummingbirds stamp and Die set colored with Mountain Mist ink.  The sentiment is from the Always Sunshine set gold embossed with Antique Gold powder. The background was debossed with the Dotted Swirls Debossing plate and a few Kat Scrappiness gems added for the final touch.

This month’s Paint-A-Flower is the China Rose.  For this beauty I used the Altenew watercolors in Coral Berry and Cotton Candy after stamping.  Warm Sunshine graced the flower centers.  The leaves were colored with Forest Glades and Bamboo.  Again, I fussy cut the flowers. The navy background cardstock was embossed with the Always Sunshine embossing folder then splattered with white paint.  The sentiment from Block Sentiments was white heat embossed on the same navy cardstock.  I thought the pink flowers were striking against the navy blue.

Lastly, I used the Always Sunshine Project Kit.  On watercolor paper I used the wet on wet technique to create a rainbow.  Once dry I sprayed it with some Perfect Pearls in water but it’s hard to see the shimmer. I set this on the black card base then used the stamp and die to stack the black and white images.  The long trailing leaves fit well on a slimline card.

I hope you like this selection…there are so many ways to use these subscription items you will never go wrong investing in them.  They really give you a great value.
