In the early summer of 2020, I started my real journey with Altenew. As a major fan of their stamps and dies, I was asked if I would like to join the Altenew Educators Certification Program. I was intrigued with the idea but wasn’t very confident in myself to commit to it. With Erum Tasneem’s encouragement, I took the leap. She guided me and my fellow students along the way and the next thing I know I completed the whole 25 course, 3 challenge event and became an Altenew Certified Educator in April of 2021…less than a year after starting. I loved taking classes, running with the challenges and stepping outside my comfort zone to create more and more.
One of my favorite cards is so appropriate for the 8th Anniversary of Altenew! They are AMAZING. This card definitely describes Altenew –the company, the people, the other Educators, and all the fans. For this I used the Craft-A-Flower: Poppy Layering Die Set with a combination of yupo paper with alcohol inks and cardstock plus my favorite embossing folder — the Angled Mosaic 3D Embossing Folder.
My second favorite item was made for my Level 2 challenge. I had to repurpose or upgrade something which stretched me tremendously but it was so satisfying in the end. I used multiple mediums (stencils, alcohol ink, mixed medium ink, stamps, Artist markers, etc.) to create 4 coasters/tiles and when put together made an even bigger scene.
It just goes to show that you can really build on your skills through the Altenew products!
